What is an LXP?

An LXP, or learning experience platform, is learning software built around the learner rather than the administrator. Where a traditional system assigns courses and tracks completion, an LXP is built around discovery, using AI to recommend content based on someone’s role, goals and skill level and letting them explore and choose for themselves. The reference point most people land on is a streaming service, with its personalised recommendations, a deep library to browse and the user deciding what to watch next. That shift, from training that is assigned to learning that is chosen, is the whole point of an LXP, and it is the thing that sets it apart from the LMS that came before it.
