The Need

 
Genius Within were commissioned to support a large organisation with a neurodiversity programme for managers and leaders. To do this effectively, they needed bespoke eLearning that reflected both their specialist expertise and the practical realities of management.

This was not generic awareness training. The learning needed to support managers in:

• Understanding neurodiversity and neurodivergent conditions
• Becoming more effective people leaders
• Applying practical guidance around process, policy and workplace adjustments
• Supporting recruitment, selection, development and retention of neurodiverse individuals
• Contributing to a wider goal of becoming a neuro-inclusive employer

The learning also needed to be designed in a way that was accessible, engaging and brain-friendly, aligning with the principles Genius Within champions in its own work.

The Solution

 
Skillshub worked collaboratively with Genius Within to design and develop a fully bespoke eLearning programme, with Genius Within providing the specialist subject matter and Skillshub translating this into effective digital learning

The approach followed a structured, consultative design process, including:

• Initial scoping and consultation, ensuring a clear understanding of outcomes, audience and organisational context
• Storyboard and script development, breaking content into clear, logical modules with strong narrative flow
• Use of interaction, animation and varied media, designed to sustain attention and reinforce learning
• A strong focus on user experience, ensuring learning was accessible across devices and working patterns
• Built-in opportunities for reflection, application and reinforcement, rather than passive consumption

The bespoke programme was designed to cover:
