In everyday terms, yes. Skillshub runs entirely online, so there’s nothing to download, install or maintain on your own systems. You log in through a web browser, wherever you are and on whatever device suits you, and the platform is ready to go.
The more accurate term, though, is SaaS, which stands for Software as a Service. “Cloud based” often makes people think of cloud storage, the kind of online drive where you keep and manage your own files. Skillshub does not work that way. You are not uploading or storing anything yourself. You are logging in to a fully hosted platform that we run, update and look after, and using it as a service.
For learners and administrators, that distinction rarely matters day to day. Everything happens in the browser, you are always on the latest version, and there’s no software for your IT team to manage. The things people value about the cloud, access from anywhere and no setup, are all there. The label that fits it best is simply a little different.
If you would like to understand how cloud-based learning platforms work more widely, our guide on What is a Cloud-Based Learning Management System breaks the topic down in full.
