Can course requests be approved before learners start?

Yes, this is possible, though it is worth being upfront that it is not part of the standard setup. By default, learners can access the courses assigned or available to them without needing approval each time.

If you would like an approval step in place, where a learner requests a course and an administrator is notified to approve it before they can begin, this can be built for you. It is a useful option for organisations that want tighter control over who takes what, for example where certain training needs sign off from a manager or where access needs to be authorised on a case by case basis.

Because this sits outside the standard platform, it is a bespoke feature. It would be built specifically for your organisation and involves a one off fee to develop. It is not something that is switched on as standard, but it is well within what we can do where there’s a genuine need for it.
